Famed supermodel Christie Brinkley has found a buyer for her Hamptons beach house, months after cutting $2 million from its price tag. The Sag Harbor home entered contract on Thursday, listing records show, and was most recently asking $17.99 million. The exact sale price will not be available until the sale closes. Its listing price peaked at $25 million in early 2017 before it was lowered to $20 million, then again to $17.99 million last summer. The house first hit the market in 2010, according to listing records.
Built in 1843, the 5,500-square-foot home has plenty of period details, such as columns covering the facades, wide-plank old pine floors, an oak banister and multiple fireplaces. Ms. Brinkley, 65, purchased the five-bedroom home in 2004 for $7.15 million using a trust linked to her business address, records in PropertyShark show. Along with classic features, the house has a kitchen with soapstone and marble counters, a formal dining room, a study, a mud room and a master suite with its own sitting room and terrace with harbor views, according to the listing with Enzo Morabito of Douglas Elliman. The brokerage declined to comment on the sale.
Outside, the almost 4.5 acres are home to gardens, specimen trees, a pool and roughly 330 feet of beach. A second Hamptons estate owned by Ms. Brinkley is still on the market. Her 20-acre Bridgehampton property is asking $29.5 million. The New York Post first reported that the home was in contract.
