The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are finally back after their long hiatus from the big screen, and this time they want to make sure it was well worth the wait. The reboot succeeds in giving enough fun and action both for newcomers and for the old fans of the franchise.

Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have taken control of New York and the four mutated warrior brothers — Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo — rise from the sewers to fight them out. They have the help of the fearless journalist April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her smart cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), who’s vying for her attention.

With their collective efforts the city will be rid of evil forces. Even with the new twists in the plot, the story remains simple. The good part is, there’s lightheartedness, leg-pulling and battle for power among the brothers.

As usual, the film takes the special effects and 3D to another level. And it all looks realistic. While it seems watered down in comparison to its predecessors, it’s a feel good flick.
